Use of personal data when you purchase an online language course
When you purchase an online language course from us, we need your name, email address,, gender, age, nationality, city, country and any other invoicing details. You can also log in using your Facebook account. When you log in using your Facebook account, we have access to the basic information of your Facebook account: user name and password.
You can also choose to have the invoice sent to a third party, such as your employer. If you make use of this option, we need the name of the company, the department, the address including zip code and the contact details of the contact from the third party. We collect these data to enable us to provide the online course. We keep the invoice data for as long as we are legally obliged to. We are obliged to keep our fiscal administration for seven years, and in some cases ten years.

Use of personal data for account purposes
You need to have an account to access certain parts of the website. For example to take an online language course, to see your progress via the dashboard during a course and to purchase additional products (extending your existing course or purchasing a new course).
In your account we keep all the information provided by you during registration as well as information about the online language courses you have taken. We keep your data so that you do not have to repeatedly enter it yourself and so that it is easier for us to approach you where necessary to fulfill our contract with you. We keep all information that we obtain via your account for as long as your account exists. You may change the personal information provided during registration at any time, or ask for it to be deleted. You may also indicate how often we can approach you with emails related to your course.

Use of personal data when using the free trial course
To show you what our online language courses are like, we offer a free trial version of our courses. We must ask you to leave your email address in order to view a demo. By leaving your email address you agree to our Privacy and Cookie Statement, our General Conditions, and you consent to The Language Academy sending you occasional emails with information on our courses and offers.

Use of personal data for reviews
You may write a review about us and our service(s). In this way you can let us (and other people) know what you think of our service. For this we use your name (optional), your contact details (optional), information about the service used and how you rate it. We collect these data on the basis of our legitimate interest; you are of course under no obligation whatsoever to write a review. You may ask us at any time to delete your review.
